Death on High Seas Act

Death on High Seas Act
A federal statute which applies to death caused by wrongful act, including neglect or default, on the high seas more than a marine league from the United States, and authorizes suit for damages in an admiralty court, by the personal representatives of the decedent and for the personal benefit of the decedent's wife, husband, parent, child, or dependent relative. 46 USC § 761; 2 Am J2d Adm § 130.
