continuing jurisdiction
An expression of variable meaning: --(1) the jurisdiction of a court, once invoked by the commencement of an action, from that time to the final termination of the action; (2) jurisdiction for relief after final judgment; (3) and the jurisdiction of a court to which a case has been sent in granting a motion for change of venue.
