An exception to the parol evidence rule, similar in many respects to the doctrine of partial integration, which permits proof by parol of a separate and independent verbal cuntract between the parties to a written contract under the principle that the parol evidence rule does not affect a purely collateral contract distinct from, and independent of, the written agreement. 36 Am J2d Ev § 1016.
