official bond
A penal bond conditioned upon the performance of duties of office. A bond required of a public officer, in effect, a contract between the officer and the government, binding the officer to discharge the duties of his office, and binding the sureties to make good the defaults of the officer. 43 Am J1st Pub Of § 394.
