landlord's lien
At common law, a lien for rent in arrears acquired by an actual seizure of property upon the leased premises by the levy of a distress for rent in arrears. 32 Am J1st L & T § 564. A lien in favor of the landlord for the rent, reserved in a lease, on the crops raised or personal property of the tenant brought upon the leased premises. 32 Am J1st L & T § 566. A statutory lien for rent upon property of the tenant brought upon the leased premises and, in the case of farm land, crops raised upon the leased premises. 32 Am J1st L & T § 575.
