irrevocable

irrevocable
Not revocable at the will of one party. Re Zimmerman, 236 NY 15, 139 NE 764. The usual meaning of the word is never to be revoked; never to be abrogated, annulled, or withdrawn. But a court will not so interpret the word when such a construction would be unreasonably harsh. Mutual Reserve Fund Life Asso. v Boyer, 62 Kan 31, 61 P 387. Even an agreement made irrevocable by statute is revocable by the mutual consent of the parties. 5 Am J2d Arb & A § 41.
