high school
A school where the higher branches of a common school education are taught. Whitlock v State ex rel. School Dist. 30 Neb 815, 822. One of the common or public schools, usually including grades 9 to 12, inclusive, but sometimes divided so as to have a junior high and a senior high school. McLeod v State, 154 Miss 468, 122 So 737, 63 ALR 1161.
